The goal of this project was to design an infographic based on a topic of choice. After researching different topics in the realm of fashion, I decided to do the ‘Number of Burberry Stores Worldwide’. 

 

The main challenge was to find a topic that had five to six variables of data, and to effectively visualize that data without using a lot of text.

Variables:

• Years: 2020, 2021

• Regions: Asia Pacific, EMEIA, Americas

• Stores, Concessions, Outlets, Franchise Stores

• Total numbers of each store

Based on the amount of data, and the form that the infographic would take (B shape), I narrowed it down to only showing data from 2020 and 2021. This way, there wouldn’t be an overwhelming amount of data, and the information would be easy to read and understand. I put the data for 2020 in the top half of the B and 2021 in the bottom half.

 

I decided to design the information in the shape of the letter ‘B’ based on the name of the brand while the color scheme is based on the colors from Burberry’s main fabric pattern. I also used the typeface Interstate because it closely resembled the one used for the Burberry logo, as well as Interstate Mono to create some hierarchy.
